A solid but complex solution needed to be upgraded
Refa is a company with a complex solution. With many different integrations, legal requirements, and handling sensitive data, their ERP system was far from standard.
“We have been a Navision customer for many years. We started with Navision in 2005, which we later upgraded to NAV 2009. Over the years, we have developed many customizations and integrations, which has made our solution both strong – and complex,” explains Morten Nielsen, CFO at Refa.
It was therefore a big decision to make when it came time to upgrade to a Business Central Cloud solution.
Familiar customizations, high professionalism and mutual trust
“Our regular Vektus consultant has been with us for many years. He has been responsible for most of our customizations and integrations, has a high level of professionalism and knows both us and our system inside out. So when we decided to switch to a Business Central Cloud solution, it was only natural to do it together with Vektus.”
From workshop to operation – with overview and control
The project kicked off in May 2024 with a series of structured workshops. In December of the same year, the system was tested, and in January 2025, Refa went live with their new Business Central Cloud solution.
“The entire process has been characterized by structure and good follow-up. Vektus has ensured ongoing steering committee and operational meetings, which has enabled us to maintain an overview and feel safe throughout the process.”

Complexity requires collaboration
As expected in an ERP project of Refa’s complexity, there have been bumps in the road.
“Our solution is complex. This meant that we had some challenges during the final adjustments, testing and our go-live. This is to be expected in a complex project like ours. The most important thing is how you deal with the challenges. And here, Vektus has, as expected, been there and taken care of the problems.”
From customization to standard
One of the major benefits of switching to Business Central Cloud has been that Refa is now free of the many old customizations:
“Today, the vast majority of our customizations have been replaced with standard functionality in Business Central Cloud. This means that we can keep our system up to date and are no longer stuck with an older solution. Of course, it’s a change – especially for the users – but most people can already see the benefits.”
Refa is now live with their Business Central Cloud solution and looking forward to finalizing the last integrations.
